Installation Project: Tree Height Monitoring System for Power Transmission Lines (LiDAR) Installation Case Study

The power line tree overhang monitoring device (LiDAR) is a remote sensing technology capable of distinguishing between overhead power lines and vegetation. It also helps reduce the risk of trees falling onto nearby utility lines. The device features scheduled scanning, remote control, and the ability to trigger LiDAR data collection and upload in smart analysis mode; the LiDAR scans the environment along the transmission corridor and uses digital LiDAR technology to accurately reconstruct the scene. It can effectively identify tree obstructions and external damage hazards, calculate the distance to the conductors with an error margin of ≤0.25 m, and quickly generate a tree obstruction detection report for the corridor.
